Trips and Tours
Our pupils have been lucky enough to have some fantastic trips and tours planned for them this year. Many of the year groups have taken their learning on to the beach, as we strive to provide opportunities to take advantage of the environment around us. Year 4 explored Roman Exeter. Numerous trips to Dartmoor have been had, both day visits and camping. Year 1 saw where their food comes from on Mrs Glanvill's farm. Year 6 visited the Eden Project as well as a three day trip to London. Years 7 and 8 have enjoyed various leadership programme adventures, including mountain biking at Haldon Forest, outdoor pursuits with Spirit of Adventure and the hotly anticipated Year 8 French trip, in the Summer term.
A particular highlight of the 2023-24 academic year has been the Upper School Culture Tour to Madrid, which took place in March. Over 40 pupils between Years 6 and 8 explored Spain's capital city, watching the Real Madrid Legends play at the Bernabeu Stadium, learning how to make authentic paella, exploring the city on a walking tour, dancing the Flamenco and visiting the zoo.
Every year group from Year 3 upwards has enjoyed a residential, away from home. Hooke Court, Dartmoor and Roadford Lake played host to our pupils, who were given opportunities to learn team building skills, outdoor sports and activities and were encouraged to build resilience and independence away from home. Year 2 began their journey with a practice sleepover in the Wessex Hall!
