What uniform to wear when
At all times, pupils are expected to dress smartly and to care for their clothes and those of others. All uniform must be named and Stevensons, our uniform supplier, offers a labelling service.
Pupils wear summer uniform in the Summer and come back to school in the Autumn term wearing summer uniform. They wear winter uniform after the Autumn half-term holiday (or sooner if it becomes too cold for summer uniform). Children wear their winter uniform in the Spring term. The school holds sample sizing sets of most uniform so you can try before you buy online. Do contact Matron if you wish to try on uniform.
School caps are available from Stevensons for use during the Summer term and fleece hats are available for cold-weather wear. Children should also ensure that they have sunblock with them at all times. Please speak to your child’s teacher for application guidelines. Please do not bring in non-uniform scarves, hats or gloves.
Pupils must wear their school blazer to school each day except in the case of very hot weather. All children should carry a school waterproof coat with them each day, particularly during winter.
Children in Reception to Year 8 should wear black shoes and please ensure that shoes are polished regularly. Nursery children wear white trainers, unless you elect for your child to wear the optional green striped summer dress or tartan pinafore, in which case black shoes should be worn with these.
Pupils’ hair should be neatly dressed. Pupils' hair, if longer than shoulder length, should be tied back with a hairband (navy, black, brown or dark green only). The use of highlights, colouring or bleaching is not acceptable.
Pupils in the Upper School (Years 6, 7 & 8) may wear a single stud earring in each ear. This will need to be removed during games and PE and, for this reason, valuable earrings should be avoided; they are likely to be lost. All pupils may, at their discretion, wear a wristwatch. No other jewellery is permitted in school.
All clothes must be identified using name tapes. Use of initials, as well as surname, is essential. Sew-on name tapes can be purchased through Stevensons or you can pay a fee for Stevensons to sew in the name tapes for you.
